田中里姫

青森県出身。秋田、金沢でガラス工芸を学び、現在は秋田県秋田市にて制作。
「自然の、ありのままの美しさ」を大切にした作品づくりが特徴。ガラスに空気を吹き込んでできた自然な球を、その形のまま切って半球状のうつわに仕上げるなど、造形が作為的にならないよう技法に工夫が凝らされている。色に関しても同様で、「目で見て感じるものに単色のものはない」という感覚から生み出される色彩の溶け合いやグラデーションが、自然的な美しさを巧みに表現している。

Saki Tanaka

Ms. Tanaka studied glass art in Akita and Kanazawa and currently works in Akita City, Akita Prefecture. Her works are characterized by their "unvarnished beauty." She uses ingenious techniques to minimize artificiality in her works, keeping the natural sphere formed by blown air to create vessels. The same goes for the colours; the mesmerizing blending and gradations of colours reflect her take on nature's multi-colouredness.
