Makoto Saito
Mr. Saito creates works using semi-porcelain, a material that combines the gentle quality of earthenware with the durability of porcelain.
Each piece is colored by hand, featuring soft hues and a hazy, mist-like texture achieved through multiple layering of colors — qualities that somewhat resemble the feel of abstract paintings.
In addition, the material offers an appealing balance between a delicate, slender silhouette and the reassuring sturdiness essential for everyday use.
There to serve as tableware but also to be admired as art pieces on their own ― Saito’s works add a touch of elegance to your daily life as they blend naturally into your dining scene.
